IT Trainee

I'm looking for a trainee to help with installation, service, and support of technology. Mostly networking, cameras, phones, computers, point of sale, and TVs.

It's a good fit for someone that takes a problem solving approach to the world. If asked to get 10 7' patch cables, some people will find the empty box, check other boxes, look in the to be sorted section, and then come back and say, "We're out of 7' cables, but we have a few dozen 10' cables, will they do?"

It's not a good fit for someone that can't find the cables, then sits down and plays with their phone until their manager remembers to check up on them and provide new instructions.

As this is a trainee position, pay will probably not be adequate for someone supporting a family. I am hoping the trainee will stick around for years (with pay bumps matching skill bumps). I don't see it as a good fit for a well qualified person looking to bridge a career gap.

I figure there's a smart twentysomething stuck at Starbucks that just needs a chance.

Location is on the northwest Loop.
