Just need to scream about insurance issues to people who understand
So, to make a long story short, I'm scheduled to have top surgery on the 13th - yes, less than a week away. My insurance has been absolutely abysmal about it. First they didn't inform me I need a therapist letter when I first contacted them asking about their approval standards. Got that sorted away after spending $500+ to get one on short notice [as in, last week because they waited so long to send a denial letter]. Now I've got the required letter and my surgeon sent it off with the appeal. Problem is, he forgot to get my signature on it and instead of saying something when they received incomplete forms the insurance decided to just. Sit on the knowledge. The only reason we found out about the mix up is because my surgeon called to check in on the process this morning and was told they hadn't even looked at the appeal because of the lack of signature. I had to drive an hour to my surgeon just to sign one paper; could have done it online, but I didn't want to risk anymore issues cropping up. So here's to hoping the stupid insurance company pulls their hand out of their ass and just signs off on this already. I know I can push the surgery further out but its already been delayed by the hospital itself twice now thanks to mix ups with double booking. I'm just so tired of getting so close only to have it seemingly snatched away.
