Live link! Jackson county caucus

hey everyone. I'm here at the Jackson county caucus today. I'm going to try to keep this link updated with what's going on from time to time. ill let you know if anything funky goes on or they try to pull something.

8:05am: just arrived and there is a huge line about 150 meters long. We are standing outside. There are a few police and a news crew

8:15am: in just 10 minutes another 50 meters have been added to the line. Romney and Santorum supporters went down the line. Not a lot of people took their stickers. A lady was counting the line and looks like I'm the first 1000. They are only letting 1000 in. There is a basketball game on the other side of the building though so people may get in the backdoor

8:20am: just told I was around 300th in line.. there is probably another 200 behind me. Caucus doesn't start till 10

8:40am: hearing a lot of Paul support. Probably 600 people here now. This is a line around a high school its huge Haha

8:55am: line has slowly begun to move inside

9:15am: finally towards the front of the line about to go in.

9:20am: I'm in. They are counting max people. You have to sign allegiance to the republican party

9:35am: I'm in and seated. All the offical Ron Paul people were inside to hand stuff out. There are 3 sections in this auditorium. In the front its Romney Santorum and newt but they only have about 5 rows each and every other seat seems to be Ron Paul. However they do have the front rows.

9:55am: fairly full now. Waiting to get started. I'm sitting in the Romney camp but surrounded by Paul supporters.

10:02am: doors are suppose to be shut now but still see people coming in. Maybe just finishing processing people? However our strategy seems to be working. Be low key and pepper Paul supporters throughout the crowd. It looks like we have majority

10:25am: still haven't started....

10:35am: still haven't started. But let me give a general description of what the people look like. Romney supporters are pretty much older folk. Santorum people are dressed ultra conservative like church and farm clothes. And newt supporters pretty much don't exist. I don't see a group of them anywhere. Everyone else is Ron Paul.

10:50am: finally starting

10:57am: there are film crews here so nothing funky should happen. Everyone has a seat

11:10am: Tom green a Ron Paul supporter running for state representative spoke and the whole room went crazy. I think we have the majority by far

11:45am: voting for caucus chair. The Ron Paul guy has about 80% of the room for him the othe rs are for Santorum. Romney camp was suppose to have a different guy but they voted for ours ;)

12:20pm: 10 minute break but its going to take longer I bet

12:40pm: moving on its pretty clear 2/3 are Romney and Paul. 1/3 is Santorum

1:12pm: apparently it was important to sing god bless America

1:30pm: voting to separate the 5th and 6th district votes so the 6th can get some Santorum delegates. And the 5th gets either Romney or Paul. However this is a county caucus it should be one vote and whoever wins gets all the delegates. This is some bull wasting time so Santorum which is clearly outnumbered to get some delegates.

1:55pm: its getting rowdy. Taking too long to vote on stupid stuff

2:42pm:voting to close the rules of the caucus. Still haven't even voted for someone yet

2:52pm: the plan is to vote for the best Obama slate which is 80% delegates to Paul and 20% to Romney. We don't have 50%+1 for 100% Paul delegates. But still we will get over 100 delegates to the state convention.

3:20pm: 6th district 35 Ron Paul convention 5th district 144 to district convention. 63 to district 105 to state convention plus one elector.

3:36pm: Ron Paul takes majority delegates to state by a vote of 531-217

Official RP wins!
