So my religious father came home drunk last night.... Not what you would think

So my dad is a member of a large and rather ancient Christian organization (won't be naming names here), ergo he is supposed to believe in god, he went to bible studies everyday of his childhood and while he never really forced the going to church thing he certainly exuded the sense of Christianity. Last night he came home rip roaring drunk and my younger brother happened to be visiting, apparently he sat down with him and talked in depth about how 'I' was probably right and that if god was real "he was a cold blooded fucker who deserves nothing but hatred". This...shocked the hell out of me, my views had been known by the family for years and to know that my dad harbored such feelings quietly for years was a revelation. Apparently (secondhand info from my brother) he has been holding up this righteous torch in memory of his father for all this time and at 55 he is just too old to give a damn about pretending that "Something greater then me cares...cause he sure has hell hasn't shown it". I'm still digesting this information but I needed to share this

TL;DR My supposedly religious father came home drunk and openly admitted that he doesn't believe in god and if he does exist he hates him immensely and I'm having trouble adapting to the fact we were on the same wavelength all these years.
