Just an idea: The US should legalize marijuana (ages 19+), tax it, and send all the proceeds to NASA. NASA would inspire kids to explore the universe and pot would inspire adults to explore the universe.

This idea is at the heart of two issues that are important for me:

1.The legalization of Marijuana (I don't smoke, but don't want to see people in jail for it anymore) and

2.The lack of funding for the US space program that Neil deGrasse Tyson has so eloquently and enthusiastically spoke about. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mydem6nqQbE

EDIT1: I think taxes are justifiable if marijuana is legalized just like sin taxes on alcohol and cigarettes are justified. Presumably there are some negative externalities of the free exchange of pot just like the free exchange of cigarettes (second hand smoke, medical bills we all have to pay for).
