Is a poker room the least profitable thing for a casino? If so, I have another question.

Is a poker room the least profitable thing for a casino? Granted, the room I play at has a rake of just the small blind, no matter the pot size. But is a poker room even near as profitable as table games and slots for the casino?

If true, why do poker rooms usually have decent comps?

For reference, I have only played in one room at a really nice casino. The rake is only the small blind, no matter the game or pot size. I haven't played as much recently but when I was playing about 20 hours a week for 3 months, I would get a $50 food comp every week and a $60 cash voucher.
