Got any advice on making a modern interior more welcoming and comfortable?
The architect of our house recently sent over a photographer to take some pix for the architect's portfolio. I thought they'd do some rearranging/staging, but they pretty much shot the room as it was. I'm no interior design expert, but now that I see the room in a photo, a few things jump out at me. That tiny framed photo on top of the larger ones on the side of the cabinets is too small and makes the rest seem out of balance. The framed photos on the wall seem too small for the space, too. Also, should we get some kind of window treatments? The glass is frosted since they both look out into the gangway, and the neighbor's house is about 3 feet away. I like the modern feel, but I'd like to make it a little homier/welcoming. Advice? Link to photos.
