The differences between the book and the movie. /spoiler ALERT

So, I just saw the movie today. It was amazing, but several parts were left out, or in some cases, added in. Here's what happened in the movie compared to the book.

-BOOK: Haymitch makes an appearance at the reaping and falls off the stage. MOVIE: Haymitch does not attend the reaping.

-BOOK: Haymitch appears at dinner on the train, asks if he missed dinner, pukes, then faints. -MOVIE: Haymitch simply appears, grabs a bottle of alcohol, and pours a shot.

-BOOK: Peeta smashes a glass on the train and says, "that's funny, except not to us." MOVIE: that doesn't happen.

-BOOK: Katniss shoves Peeta into a vase, cutting his hand, yelling at him. MOVIE: Katniss slams Peeta against a wall, yells at him, and runs off.

-BOOK: Hovercrafts appear to collect bodies during the games. MOVIE: they do not, but the cannon shots are still there.

The tracker jacker scene went accordingly to the book.

-BOOK: Marvel gets shot in the neck after spearing Rue. MOVIE: Marvel gets shot in the chest.

-BOOK: Anthem plays every night at the end of a day. MOVIE: anthem only plays once.

-MOVIE: After Katniss lays Rue with flowers, she gives the district 12 farewell sign, which district 11 responds to by doing the same gesture, followed by a riot that began when a man (presumably Rue's father,) starts tearing things of of walls, and beating peacekeepers, until more arrive with riot shields.

-BOOK: sleep syrup is delivered to Katniss and Peeta, as well as the broth. MOVIE: Only the broth appears, along with a note containing a snide remark from Haymitch.

-BOOK: Clove throws a knife at Katniss that misses,to which Katniss responds by shooting Clove in the arm, followed by another knife that clips her forehead, where they then tackle, Clove attempting to stab Katniss. MOVIE: Katniss misses every shot, while Clove's first knife clips Katniss.

-BOOK: Thresh dents Clove's head with a stone. MOVIE: Thresh slams Clove against the cornucopia walls until she dies.

-BOOK: Thresh questions Katniss for a while before finally letting her go. MOVIE: Thresh immediately darts off after killing Clove.

-BOOK: a cannon shot is heard, following the dragging of Thresh's body, presumably having been killed by Cato. MOVIE: There is snarling, barking, and screaming heard, followed by a cannon shot and Thresh's image in the sky, presumably killed by the mutts.

-BOOK:The mutts have different colored fur. MOVIE: The mutts' fur is identical.

-BOOK: Peeta has a plastic leg prosthesis, and gets mad at Katniss after finding out the lover thing was just an act. -MOVIE: Peeta's leg is never replaced, the two never fight.

I'm not saying the movie isn't worth your time or money, because it is. But it had some minor issues with the book and the movie.
