War getting name off records

Hey there!

So I sent in my resignation letter to church membership records department a week ago. I did the standard "please don't contact me unless it is to inform me that my name has been taken off ect". They wrote back informing me they are referring me to the Bishop of the closest ward as it is an ecclesiastical matter. Anyone have advice about the next step I should take?
