What happened to r/pokemontrades?

When I first picked up SoulSilver over a year ago, it was such a happy place. Someone willingly helped me transfer some rare mons from the save file of the guy I bought the game off, there was a guy just giving Jirachis away for free one time (where di you go, thatjirachiguy?), a Feebas seller once, and if you ever asked for help finding something you'd get a positive reply within minutes.

  • "LF Charmander?"
    "Right here, bro! No worries!"

  • "Help evolving a Kadabra?"
"I'm on in 5, let me get my DS."

  • "I'm evolving Glaceons, would anyone like one?"
"I would but I have nothing to offer."
"That's fine just send whatever you feel like :)"

Now it's just full of jerks.

  • "Can I get a Charmander?"
    "What have you got?"
"Nothing I'm just starting out. Looking for a Charmander for my team."
    no reply

What happened? People used to be nice and selfless over there but now people don't help each other out it seems.
