College student bike?

Hi all

I'm a college student and I am hoping to get into road biking. I would mostly use the book to bike around campus (it's a big hilly campus) and then do some medium distance riding on the weekend. I'm talking about 3-5 miles here.

I have done some research, but it seems i can't find a good fit. Help? I would like to stay under 500 if possible. I don't care if it is new

I am about 5'10, 150, in good shape.
