I go to a Catholic high school chock full of atheists and right-minded people. It's definitely a more liberal religious school; they accept atheism and respect us. But occasionally there are a few situations, especially in morality class, that piss me off. A few weeks ago our class got on the topic of gay marriage. Our teacher "taught" us that if one has same-sex relations, that person will go to hell. So I said "gay people don't choose to be gay, it's decided by their genes." She responded by saying that gay people have no choice but to remain celibate for their entire lives. To my surprise, the ENTIRE class turned on her, including the religious ones. It restored a bit of my faith in humanity. If anyone reading this goes to a religious school, share your stories! I'd love to hear some good ones.
