Does Reddit have any tricks or tips to get a too-small ring off your finger?

I have a ring that's sort of a family heirloom but I only wear it on weekends since I have a manual labor job and I'm not allowed to wear it at work. I haven't worn it for a month or two and it seems my fingers have grown fatter because now I can't get it off! I have rather skinny fingers but thick knuckles so I've always used dish soap to get it off but now that won't even work. Anyone have any ideas?
