Why do people fap into socks?

This got me thinking. I mean do they use the sock when fapping, or just clean up? I don't know if I'm alone in this but, the feeling of fabric rubbing on my dick would get painful really quick. Maybe it's a circumcised thing. I just catch it with my foreskin and then use a tissue.
