Should I avoid the Mac version?

Hi y'all!

So I'm a veteran of civilization with some 15 years under my belt, and I think I'm finally sick to death of it. This game looks good. Should I avoid the Mac version (like you always should with Civ)? My PC broke last month and it will be some time before I can afford a new one. I have a backup mac but I'm worried about inferior game play. Should I wait until I have a PC?
