How does /r/SantaCruzLocals feel about making beach bonfires (or other meetups) a regular event?

I was thinking monthly, probably starting with Memorial Day, but sooner if we feel like it.

What days work for people? Would the first Saturday of every month be suitable? Keeping in mind, of course, that we'll be drowning in tourists, which makes fire pits and parking scarce.

Please post thoughts and suggestions. Maybe we could do beach bonfires when weather is good and some sort of indoor get-together when it's not.
