[DCSS] New to DCSS, HOPr Questions

So I just started a Hill Orc Priest, and I'm level 3, I assumed HOPr is the correct abbreviation.

I'm a little unsure of what I'm supposed to be doing exactly as I've only played DCSS a few days. What should i be training as this character etc. etc. Any help, like a useful guide page would be appreciated.

Oh and I just found a +4, +6 ring of slaying, so I assume that's quite great for me currently. edit: tried to format this better
