Redstone-Torches burn out faster?

Hello fellow Minecraft-Redditors!

Since the last patch (1.2.4) I noticed some strange thing going on.... In every single of my redstone-creations, the torches burn out very fast, and without a reason...

Like if I wire up a NOT-gate to a 4-tick repeater, the torch turns off and one one time but then burns out. I don't know why this keeps happening to me, maybe you should try it for yourselves.

I hope you'll do some testing on your own, and leave a report of your experiment. Or you know that this has been changed and you just have to tell me this cruel fact...
