Anyone use SETI@home with BOINC? I'm a noob and need some help!

I'm trying to get this application installed but I'm having issues. I've downloaded it, allowed it through my firewall and it kicks on when my computer goes to the screensaver. But it won't allow me to add projects, it won't connect I guess. I've seen in random forums to allow it on certain ports, 80, 443 and all that. So I'm confused... please help!
