Does r/atheism have a stance on vegetarianism/veganism?
So I was just wondering if there are any atheistic/Darwinian specific stances on vegetarianism or veganism? What's the reasoning behind it? I've been told that, even though he's not a veggie, Dawkins has spoken favourably about vegetarianism? Does anyone have a source for this, or can tell me the reasons behind it? Thanks, in advance!
EDIT: Okay so with a bit of research and some PM's, it would appear that Dawkin's has spoken about vegetarianism. He is not a vegetarian but he would "support a mass consciousness raising movement so that we can all become vegetarians". Here's the Q&A in which he says this. And this is a discussion between Peter Singer and Dawkins in which he discusses a similar thing. They talk about the morality of killing sentient beings, and our "moral responsibility" as humans etc.
