To those who use Steam in the UK - important message on saving moolah!

I only found this out tonight, and I'm not entirely sure how common knowledge this is - but here we go!

It is possible to download games through Steam after purchasing the game from other websites. For example, I was looking to buy Civilization V on steam - currently retailing at £19.99. I thought this was a little steep, so decided to look elsewhere. Long story short, I ended up buying it from http://game.gamesplanet.com/ . This is owned by Game, and they actually don't host the download service for the game. On this website, Civilization V is £9.99. So I buy the game from this website, it gives me a code which I punch into steam and voila, I am currently downloading Civilization V through steam for half the price that it is currently advertised at.

I'm not saying that all download websites simply sell keys for you to download games through steam, but this website seems to be one. So if you're going to buy something through Steam, check that site first to see if it has it for cheaper.

Hope that wasn't a waste of time for ya'll!
