The reasons I'm giving up on FPS games.

When I think back over the years, many games spring to mind for a variety of reasons. Games I've enjoyed, some not so much. Some I couldn't put down for the storyline, others for the gameplay itself, and yet more for a determination to complete them.

There is one type of game that, over the years, have given me a lot of personal aggro. You guessed it; first person shooters. Some, such as Perfect Dark, i battled through because i wanted to complete on the hardest difficulty setting. Combined with a multiplay that was pretty damn good for a console shooter of its day, it kept me coming back for more. I've found with recent console shooters that i can't say the same. In my humble opinion the campaigns feel flat, and the online multiplayer is a breeding ground for stress. Repeatedly getting cut down by campers and chopper spawners gets increadably irritating, increadably quickly. Irritating to the point that I become short tempered with those around me, and use that same wound up feeling as an excuse to smoke. And so, for the sake of my mood and relationships with those around me, esspecially my girlfriend, I will not be playing fps games any more. Sorry for the long post, I wanted to get that off of my chest.

tl;dr fps games stress me out, defeating the point of playing games.
