My planned AR15 build, should I reconsider any parts?
Repost from r/ar15 since I didn't get any responses:
I am planning on building an AR-15 to share with my dad since he always reminisces about his M-16 he used in the army whenever I go back home go shooting with him. He always talks about how he scored 38/40 on his basic rifle marksmanship test with his M-16, so i figure it would be fun to get one to shoot.
My current planned build is:
PSA 16" Mock Dissipator Upper w/ MOE handguard (when it is back in stock)
Spikes Lower (I live about 25 miles away from them, figure it is cheaper to buy it straight from them than to order one and pay shipping/FFL. I am just not sure if they have a storefront or not.)
As far as sights:
Primary Arms Microdot with UTG 1/3 cowitness riser
And also going to get 3 or 4 PMAGs (Are these really better than steel mags?).
With all this, should come out to right around $1000 and essentially the finished product should look like this.
Any recommended changes?
