Pathfinder Organised Play?

Hey, I was just wondering if anyone has experience with the Pathfinder Society Organised play? I'm thinking about going to my first one and was wondering if anyone had any advice.

I think I finally nailed a character down I want to play as (Human fighter, keeping it simple) Is the prestige system worth really getting into? I think it sounds interesting at the very least.

Anyway, even if it's a 'I did it once, it was fun' is welcome, any feedback's cool.
