I've heard you can get Aspen trees that have been cut down because of bug infestations... Where can I get them?

Since cutting Aspen trees in Denver is illegal, I've heard you can get Aspen wood from trees that have been cut down because resident beetles or other bugs have been taking up residence in them. I'm not sure what lumber yards to look for or how to go about searching for them. Any ideas or leads would be awesome!
