[Build Help] First timer, Wanting a nice gaming PC in the range of 800-1000 dollars

I was looking at this subreddit for a while to decided if I wanted to buy a pre-built pc from Ibuypower or something of the like. When I saw another thread that basically said to man up and build a PC yourself

So thats exactly I'm going to do guys. I would really love to get your help on this on to get really nice gear, I have a network card from my last computer that I can salvage but the rest I don't really need. The files on it I can just copy real quick to a flash drive and put them on my new PC since it's not much I want to keep, So I can start fresh and new! Please help! you guys are rad!
