My user folder, and all subfolders, in Windows 7 are "Read Only". I cannot change this. Help please.

I'm trying to install a game to a folder in my desktop (which is a subdirectory of my C:\user"name" folder). I cannot do this, though, since my C:\User"Name" folder is marked as "Read Only".

I have tried unchecking "read only", but this accomplishes nothing. When I reopen the folder properties menu, "Read Only" is checked yet again, as if I never changed a thing.

P.S. I'm trying to install dragon age. It won't let me select a destination folder in my C:\users"Name" directory though, because of this reason: "the install folder specified is in or is a folder reserved for special files"
