White People Hate Indians as Much Now as Ever

I appreciate the fact that American Indians are portrayed in a more favorable light these days than in previous generations, but I wonder if it's because attitudes changed, or if we're just seen as "tamed."

I wonder this, because I often hear disgust and disdain toward films where the natives are victorious. It seems that the highest achievement Indians can hope for is being ignored, at least in the media.

I believe that White people are only capable of loving what they can control and destroy. If a tribe were to ever gain self-sufficiency, they would be vilified by the same people who claim sympathy toward Indian goals and values.

I'd like to read some dissenting arguments. Reddit: please convince me that White people can handle seeing an Indian win.
