I have a little question about status effects.
So I've sort of been assuming some things about the way status effects work, but I've recently come to question my assumptions due to some experiences in PvP. I know that the bars for status effects are larger as your resistance gets stronger, but does your resistance also affect how quickly they fill as well? In the past, I've noticed that using a shield will make it so that status effects will only increase by a small sliver when actively blocking, but in PvP today, I had someone poison me in one hit through my shield. Further, he was doing bleed damage to me in two hits, again through a shield. Was this guy exploiting some kind of glitch or is this in the design? My resistances weren't very high, but I was taking way more than the usual sliver of status effect. Thanks in advance for any advice fellow chosen undead.
