What is your favourite plugin to test theme modifications?

Hi all, I am mantaing a WP site and I am asked to make changes regularly on the home page. As modifying the page live gives me cold sweat I would like to know what is your favourite plugin to do some testing on the theme that is currently in use and then go online when it's all set and well done.

Thanks,
