"The install folder specified is in or is a folder reserved for special files"

I'm trying to install a game (Dragon Age) to a folder in my desktop (which is a subdirectory of my C:\user"name" folder). I cannot do this, however, since, when I select a folder inside of my C:\User"Name" directory, DA:O gives me this error: "the install folder specified is in or is a folder reserved for special files"

Possible Causes:

My C:\User"Name" folder is marked as "Read Only".

I have tried unchecking "read only", but this accomplishes nothing. When I reopen the folder properties menu, "Read Only" is checked yet again, as if I never changed a thing.
