Does light entering the Earth's atmosphere have a polarization bias?

I noticed that when I rotate my polarized sunglasses, the blue of the sky gets darker. Is this actually due to the polarization, some other effect like the curvature of the glasses, or ask I even just bring fooled by the shading gradient?
