Is it just me, or do most people on reddit not know what socialism means? [self]

It seems like they think of socialism as social democracy, that it means giving the workers more rights in a semi-capitalist system, or that it only means the State controls the means of production.

The people who think this are usually so adamant about their ideas of what socialism means they that they can't see there are different types of socialism, r/libertarian is especially bad about this. I can't ever seem to argue with these people that there are different types of socialism, and that the only form of it is what their definition is. Does anyone else have this problem when debating with people?
