Does convex mirrors for your passenger side mirror seem more detrimental then good?

I personally hate them. I'd rather be seeing something like on my driver side mirror. I see no benefits of the mirror being convex. I know it lets you see a wider array of things in your vision, but I personally don't use it. What are your thoughts on it?
