Remember when I posted about a special kind of troll? Behold.
You probably remember the idiot who called Stef a "L. Ron Hubbard of cultism" a day ago. He went on to "prove" how Stef is a "cultist" by posting a profoundly buried post where he went through 100 reasons why Stef is a cultist, supplying zero evidence to demonstrate that Stef conformed to a single one of those reasons.
Some of you said "he's probably not a troll". Lots of you heavily upvoted him in this thread: http://www.reddit.com/r/Anarcho_Capitalism/comments/ralsy/a_special_kind_of_trolls/c449oyc
Well, I happen to have had an extended conversation with him... If it can even be said that I had a conversation, because he clearly doesn't speak English -- he clearly speaks a language of his own invention, where up means down, and opinions are facts.
I'll bring a few highlights to bear. Feel free to look at his entire comment history in context, to understand what went on.
His "proof" that morals are just beliefs (should appall both consequentialists and deontologists here): "I think killing jews is immoral. Hitler thought killing jews was moral. Who decides what is right?". http://www.reddit.com/r/Anarcho_Capitalism/comments/r94i2/looking_for_good_critiques_of_deontological_ethics/c44jnnj?context=3 Apparently nobody can tell Hitler with logical and evidentiary certainty that he was committing a moral evil. The gassing of six million Jews being evil is just an "opinion".
2 + 3 = 6 is a "valid" statement, according to him: http://www.reddit.com/r/Anarcho_Capitalism/comments/r94i2/looking_for_good_critiques_of_deontological_ethics/c44jofn?context=3 Apparently anything is "valid" if it's "sufficiently convincing".
Reality cannot be used to prove whether 2 + 3 = 6 is valid or invalid: http://www.reddit.com/r/Anarcho_Capitalism/comments/r94i2/looking_for_good_critiques_of_deontological_ethics/c44jo9s?context=3 Two and three apples put together can equal six apples, if you're "convinced".
Didn't I tell you he was a troll? Are some of you guys only going to be convinced after he says "YEAH, MUAHAHAHA, I AM A TROLL AND I CAME HERE TO TROLL U"?
C'mon. You're smarter than that, people. Protect your community; learn to spot divisive agitpropists, don't give them an audience, don't let them introduce false controversy. The benefit of the doubt isn't candy you absolutely must hand out to everyone.
