Help with WILD? (Also, I'm scared)

I tried to do a wild this morning. I'm having two main problems. After a while my eyes just open. I think it's because I'm too relaxed and trying not to move. So I have to try to squint and keep them closed, and it hurts a little.

Another major problem is that I have to keep swallowing my saliva. I try to not do it but it starts to hurt and I have to do it. Is swallowing saliva going to get in the way of my WILD? If so, how can I stop?

So after a while of staying still my heart started beating fast. Except it was in the middle of my chest. It beat for a while and sped up. I didn't know what to do at this point but I thought I was supposed to keep my eyes closed. It slowed down beating and then went away. A while after that I opened my eyes and nothing had happened yet. So I gave up.

Also, I'm really scared. I get scared really easily, I'm not the type of person that can handle "shadow people". I've been reading about sleep paralysis and it scares me a lot. Can someone like me handle it? How long does it last? Does it happen often? Honestly, I'm not even sure what it is.

I'm afraid of mirrors too. I don't want to accidentally see myself in the mirror in a dream. After reading some scary story on this subreddit I get scared. I'm home alone so I'm just really scared. I avoid mirrors even though I'm awake. I'm afraid to go pee since there's a mirror in the room. I'm the type of person who gets scared to sleep in the dark. And when I do, I'm afraid to move. I'm afraid to turn, and I try to keep my eyes closed. Especially since I read some of the stories on here.

I'm a pretty rational person but I get scared when I'm alone so I keep thinking some ghost or shadow person is gonna show up.

tl;dr: I need help with WILD. Not sure how exactly to do it, can someone explain in detail? Also, I'm scared of sleep paralysis, I'm also scared of mirrors now. I get scared pretty easily. I"m sure it's not normal. What should I do? Should I even be lucid dreaming?

tl;dr: Sorry if this was a really incomprehensible post. I love the idea of lucid dreaming but I'm scared because of 'shadow people', and also looking at myself in the mirror.

Edit: Oh, I forgot, what is "wake back to bed"?
