My dad tells amazing stories. What are some of your parents (or grandparents) best tales?

While there are far too many to choose from, just to keep things simple here is one of my favorite stories from my dad (maybe someone older can confirm it):

Back in the late 1950s/early 60s in New York City where my dad was living at the time, there was a gorilla at the Bronx zoo that would smoke cigarettes. My dad would go there with his friends and throw it a lit cigarette. Apparently, without missing a beat, the gorilla would pick it up immediately and ash the entire thing with one mighty inhalation. The gorilla had a name, but I don't remember what it was; he was also probably addicted to cigarettes because people did it all the time.
