Anyone know where to recycle some various things?

I'm attempting to dramatically reduce the clutter in my home. Therefore I have a lot of junk lying around and I don't know what to do with it. I know I can recycle my old CRT's and stereos at Best Buy, but what am I supposed to do with old christmas lights? I also have a bunch of various scrap wood pieces and I don't know what I can do with that stuff either. Anyone have an idea?
