AMD Build vs Intel Build

From a purely Beneficial standpoint, which would be better for me in the long run? I found a really good deal on an AMD build, and with the money leftover I could afford a 680 or a GPU in that price range, or I could Make an Intel build with a significantly cheaper gpu (6870 Price range). I know Intel is smacking AMD in the Gaming market, but I'm just wondering.
