Is it confirmed that you are supposed to be able to change directions while jumping?

Curious as I hadn't really heard about this til it was mentioned and am wondering if this is actually a bug in beta and not something that's planned for launch? Also is /say confirmed to be out or just not in yet?

Any video links that don't break NDA (Like the previous press beta ones) that show this type of jumping would be appreciated!
