Trying to decide if I should move to pursue a job opportunity.
I currently work in my hometown at a local community bank as a commercial credit analyst. I enjoy my job because its fairly relaxed and in a place I am very familiar with. Because of the company size there isn't much room for further advancement or training
About a month ago a recruiter approached me through LinkedIn with a job opportunity in a large city about 1.5 hours away. The job would be with a large financial institution as a corporate credit analyst. I interviewed last week and knocked it out of the park and was given an offer that is beyond tempting. I would essentially double my salary, be eligible for a pension and even receive health benefits after retiring.
A few things scare me. The learning curve for the new job would be steep and very demanding. I think I could do it but I'm afraid of failing somehow and being left unemployed. I've become overly complacent in my current job which is probably a bad thing. I also bought a house last year and would have to try to sell it so I could move closer.
I'm basically just rambling and looking for people with similar experiences that can help ease my mind.
