Question on a Kings of Leon song.

Not sure if this is the right place to post, sorry. There is a KOL song that I LOVE called, "Pickup Truck" on their newest album Come around Sundown. At the very beginning there is an easy riff, but I'm not quite sure how he gets so much sustain? Anyone have any thoughts?
