Managing with a low budget?

Hi everyone!

First off, Im new to the r/flying subreddit. My name is Josh and I am 20 years old, currently active duty military, stationed at Ft Gordon GA.

I have always been wanting to get into aviation. I used to work at my hometowns airport (KCGZ) as a line man / fueler. I joined the Army June of 2010 and untill not I have not had much time to fly.

Currently I have just under 2 hours of logged time. I however just dont have the budget to fly every week (thats what I want to do). With prices at around 160-180 an hour (wet w/ instructor) I just cant get into the air.

What do you guys recommend I do to keep my knowledge up to speed ? What should I do while I cant be in the air?

Ive seen places to get loans and stuff but I really dont want to do that. My GI Bill could be used, but they will only cover 60% after the PPL.

Thanks for any and all advice, if you need some more info just ask.
