I want to get into modeling, but I already feel overwhelmed...

I'd like to get into models, but I'm not sure where to begin. I'm in a very remote town in Canada, and no one sells kits around here. So I'm looking for a good website. I guess I'm looking for advice on where to start; I don't want anything to just snap together, and while I'd like a little bit of challenge but I don't want anything masterful. I think I'd like to start WWII modeling, probably with aircrafts. I'm so new to this, I feel like I'm being incredibly vague with what I'm asking help with... I guess I'd love if someone could point me in the right direction of how to get started. Thanks!
