Why Santa kicks God's ass-a fight to the death for superiority
I was thinking about this in the shower, I realized that a religion based on the worship of Santa would be way better than a religion based on the worship of God. Here are the criteria:
- Benefits of Believing
- Consequences of Not Believing
- God vs. Santa
BENEFITS OF BELIEVING----------------------------------------
Christianity-Go to Heaven where you live in eternal bliss.
Santa-Get presents.
Verdict: Now, although at first Heaven seems much more rewarding, think of the kind of people that will be in Heaven: fundamentalist Christians, Rick Santorum, Bill O’Reilly, George Bush, etc. Does Heaven sound that appealing now? Nope. Looks like Santa wins this round.
CONSEQUENCES OF NOT BELIEVING---------------------
Christianity-You are sent to Hell, a place of eternal suffering and pain.
Santa- You don’t get presents.
Verdict: Not getting presents sucks, but suffering in eternal pain is much worse. Besides, it’s not like you NEED the presents, most of the time the presents you get from Santa are material objects, things you don’t actually need. Things you DO need (clothes, food, shelter) are things you don’t have to get from Santa, you can just buy them. Once again, Santa wins this round.
GOD VS. SANTA------------------------------------------------
God-An angry tyrant who floods the earth, plagues Pharaoh, destroys Solom and Gomorrah, commands two bears to maul 42 children, kills all the first borns of Egypt, etc.
Santa: A jolly old man who laughs a lot and drives flying reindeer.
Verdict: Is this even a contest? Santa wins all the way.
FINAL VERDICT:-----------------------------------
The score is 3-0 in Santa’s favor. Looks like Santa is the winner!
