Reddit, do you find it odd to go to the movies by yourself?

I went to see The Hunger Games by myself recently and when I informed my friends about it they thought it was weird.

I get that people go to the theater with others to share an experience together, but I don't see what's so wrong about going by myself. I personally enjoy my own company, and find it rather relaxing to just sit down and soak in a movie on the big screen.

What are your thoughts about this, Reddit?
