So I got Pokemon White today... I need help because I am not familiar with gen 5 at all.

I have just started out and it seems like they upped the difficulty in this game. I know it's too soon to judge, but I don't remember having such a hard time beating trainers in Heart Gold.

So anyway, I want to know what Pokemon in gen 5 would make a good team whenever I can actually progress forward. I'm only at the second gym and my team only consists of pokemon you can find on the way.
