[Build Help] Trying to decide between the better combo (for the long run)

I am trying to decide between the better combo of Motherboard and CPU. For some background info, I found this computer at the dump and I want to upgrade it to make it my own. I will be using it as a fun computer, maybe make it a bit of a home server, maybe a media center, but it will definitely be running a 24/7 Minecraft server. I don't have much spending money (very maximum is $200 total) so I want to keep the price as low as possible for now, but still get parts that will be upgradable in the future.

For reference purposes, I'll refer to the two combos with their socket type: AM3 and FM1.

AM3 combo: Mobo , CPU

FM1 combo: Mobo , CPU

NOTES:

If I go with the FM1 combo, then less power is required and I will be able to keep the power supply that came with the computer (250W), whereas the AM3 combo would be pushing that limit, forcing me to buy a better one.

Is the AM3 processor really that much better than the FM1 processor?

I will be getting this ram, unless anyone knows of any that's cheaper?
