Question about CS/AMS summer classes

I'm a junior and switching my major to either computer science or AMS. I was a history major until realizing the degree was completely useless, and I completely blew off math in high school so I had to take pre-calc here, so it took a while to get to where I am now. So as you can imagine I'm way behind on all the required classes and I'll have to attend SBU at least one additional full year.

I'm trying to decide which summer classes to take. I'm currently in CSE 114 and CSE 215, so I'm considering taking CSE 214 during the summer. Are there any downsides to taking this class during the summer? For example, is it too much material crammed into a few weeks, or should it be ok? Has anyone taken this class during the summer? I'd like to knock the core CS courses out ASAP so I can decide if I really like it better than math.

On an unrelated note, do most CS majors take the physics courses for the required natural science sequence instead of biology or chemistry? I'd much rather take the chem courses just because I love chem, but it seems like almost every CS major I've talked to takes the physics sequence. I'm not really planning on doing anything with graphics or something like computer vision where physics is necessary.

Also considering taking MAT 127 (not sure if I want to take this with a potentially inexperienced grad student teaching), PHY 125 (wanted to take 131 but it doesn't look like it's offered during the summer), CHE 131 (if you guys think it's ok to take the chem sequence instead of physics), or AMS 301 or 310. Any input at all from anyone who has taken these classes during the summer?
