Friday, 4:50pm, you know where this is going...

So, I'm just wrapping up for the day, doing my final pre-weekend checks, when my blackberry goes off.

It's an email from the manager of our second site around 5 minutes walk from where I was, asking if I can move a PC now or first thing Monday, thinking I wouldn't really want to kick off a Monday like that, I replied thusly:

Me: Is it just the base unit?

Her: Yes. :)

Me: Okay, I'll come now on my way home.

Since the site is 5 minutes from my office and 5 minutes from my ride home, I figure what the hell.

I get there at 4:55, expecting a base unit move, but no... Of course, it's the full system, phone and all cabling, patching and testing that it included. An entire desk move at 5 to 5 on a Friday. As you do, I sighed and got on with it.

I ended up leaving at 5:30 and had to wait nearly another 30 minutes for my ride.

It's amazing how "just the base unit" covers an entire desk. Anyone else had "just x y or z" requests that have of course turned out to be a PITA?
